The latest in the series of the classic British comedy Carry On films, Carry On London may be due for production sooner rather than later, if several news reports are to be believed. The BBC, amongst others, has reported that a final script has been signed off and the movie will revolve around a limousine company which is commissioned to drive celebrities to 'The Herberts', a mythical British version of The Oscars.
Carry On London will be the first in the series of films, since Carry On Columbus – which starred Julian Clary, Maureen Lipman and June Whitfield – was released over 15 years ago. That movie itself was also an attempt at reviving the genre.
Although several stars have been linked with the movie, it is not clear if any have been confirmed. The new movie is not expected to be released until the end of 2008.
Bernard Bresslaw, Peter Butterworth, Kenneth Connor, Jim Dale, Jack Douglas, Frankie Howerd, Charles Hawtrey, Hattie Jacques, Sid James, Leslie Phillips, Terry Scott, Joan Sims, Kenneth Williams, Barbara Windsor.
The following titles have all been given the Carry On treatment.
