The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2008 will run from 3rd until the 25 of August and features a programme of theatre, fringe, dance events, musical acts and, of course, stand-up comedy.
According to Fringe website, the 2008 festival will feature 31,320 performances of 2,088 shows in 247 venues. Tickets and accommodation in Edinburgh can be booked in advance.
As well as announcing the return of a new Secret Policeman's Ball, Amnesty International have released details of its biggest ever Edinburgh Festival line-up.
Amnesty say that the highlight will be two shows at The Assembly Hall on 6th and 13th of August.
Appearing on the bill will be Ed Byrne and Andrew Maxwell as comperes. The comedy gigs will include Stephen K Amos, Brendon Burns, Jo Caufield, Alun Cochrane, Rich Hall, Reginald D Hunter, David O'Doherty, Hans Teeuwen, and Mark Watson.
This year will be the 62nd Edinburgh Fringe Festival in one form or another. It is an event in which comedians feature highly with comedy making up 32% of the programme, according to Fringe website.
