Sally Holloway
Why did you become a comedian?
Wanted to find a life where if I didn't have another boyfriend again I would still be happy.
Favorite comedy venue? The Meccano and Bracknel Arts Centre, I realize they are both packed cellars and on that basis the best comedy venues must have been the air raid shelters during the blitz.
Favorite comedian (other than self)?
Lee Mac and Dominic Holland, eminently watchable, funny and then some..
First gig - what was it like?
Comedy Cafe, Wednesday night, I didn't get a single laugh but I immediately wanted to get up there again, I had been nervous for three days and then I was high for a week after. I was telling all my friends "I did a gig......yes really, .I DIED....it was fantastic"
Biggest on-stage cock-up?
At the Bearcat, I still can't talk about it...........
Imaginary best comedy line-up (i.e. famous people who are NOT comedians but should be)?
John Lennon doing the warm up (rattle that jewellery), then Erica Jong talking about the zipless fuck in the middle and the Dali Llama on last rising above the hecklers
What plans do you have for the future?
Maybe a face lift when I'm 40.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Because it could (It was a free range chicken you see)
Anything else you'd liked to say?
Milk is evil

In six years on the comedy circuit Sally Holloway has built a reputation for sparkling off the cuff humour and startlingly accurate observational comedy which sets her head and shoulders above her peers. Which at six foot tall, she is anyway. Her effervescent authority with an audience places her in great demand as a compere as well as a standup.
