The bastard son of The League of Gentleman and EastEnders.

The League of Gentelemen's Mark Gatiss is to star in a new comedy production called Funland. Written along with colleague Jeremy Dyson, Funland is set round a Blackpool family involved in the entertainment industry.

Quoted on the BBC web site, the comedy unit' editor Kenton Allen has described the new comedy show as "the bastard son of The League of Gentleman and EastEnders after a really heavy night on the town with Twin Peaks".

Al Murray asks the comedy questions

Al MurrayAl Murray, The Pub Landlord, is set to host a series of television comedy pub quizzes. Entitled Facthunt, the show will revolve around The Pub Landlord touring the country and asking genuine pub quiz teams questions. ITV televison will be hosting the 7 half hour comedy shows in the spring. Al Murry himself is set to embark on a new set of live gigs later this year.

Spamalot - Monty Python's new musical

Monty Python's musical Spamalot - very loosely based on the film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' - has opened on Broadway to rave reviews. Starring Tim Curry, known for his role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and other films, the madcap Python style has impressed critics as well as theatre goers. Words such as "silly", "fanaticism" and "irreverence" have been bandied abbout. Something that the Pythons, will no-doubt be very proud of.
