Edinburgh Fringe Festival Comedy Winner

Brendon Burns, Australian comedianThe Edinburgh Fringe Festival is one of the Worlds and the UKs top stand-up comedy events.

Each year a comedy award is given to one comedian who stands out above other competitors. The winner for 2007 was Australian Brendon Burns, who won the award for his show So I Suppose This Is Offensive Now.

So popular have the awards become (previously sponsored by Perrier, but this year sponsored by Intelligent Finance) that this year Hollywood actor Christian Slater announced the winner.

Brendon Burns fought off close competition from Pappy's Fun Club, Ivan Brackenbury's Hospital Radio Roadshow, Andrew Lawrence and Andrew Maxwell.

Previous winners of the Edinburgh Comedy Festival competition include Rich Hall, The League of Gentlemen, Daniel Kitson, Dylan Moran, Frank Skinner, Lee Evans and Al Murray the Pub Landlord.
