Festival features British, Irish and other overseas comedians, as well as local talent.

The 2010 Melbourne Comedy Festival kicks off in March, with a selection of Australian and overseas comedy acts, including many comics from the UK, Ireland and the USA.

British acts featuring this year include Ross Noble, who has a five day run, with his show Things. His show also travels around Australia as part of a nationwide tour.

Long standing UK comics appearing this year include Jeff Green, as well as Terry Alderton, Phil Nichol and Gordon Southern. The King of puns Tim Vine appears for the second year running and Julian Clary appears for one show.

Irish representation includes Tommy Tiernan and Jason Byrne and American comedians Reginald D Hunter and Arj Barker make a welcome return.

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is one of the largest comedy festivals in the world, alongside such events as Edinburgh Fringe and Montreal's Just for Laughs festivals.
